1. What race distances are offered? Two distances will be offered: a “traditional” half iron distance triathlon length event and an aquabike event. The half iron distance triathlon will feature a 1.2 mile (1.9km) swim, 56 mile (90km) bike ride and a 13.1 mile (21.1km) run. Athletes can also opt for the aquabike, which consists of a 1.2 mile swim followed by a 56 mile bike ride.
  1. What is the minimum age to race?Athletes must be at least 18 years old on race day to compete in the individual half iron distance triathlon or aquabike event. Minimum age requirements to participate in the relay events will still be announced.
  1. Are relays/teams allowed? We welcome relays of 2 or 3 people in the half iron distance triathlon.
  1. What are the different relay options? We are pleased to introduce a new option for the team event in 2016. Athletes who wish to participate in a team will have two options in 2o16. The first option is the traditional relay format whereby each team member completes 1 entire discipline (e.g. one member completes the entire swim and tags the cyclist, who completes the entire bike ride and who then tags the designated runner). The second option is the new 2-2-2 division where 2 athletes will share each discipline. Each team member will complete half of the swim course, half of the bike course and half of the run course. At the end, each team member will have completed an entire triathlon slightly longer than an olympic distance race.
